Formula Atlas assists with formula-language and regional-format translation. It does not run Excel calculations and cannot guarantee that every result fits your workbook, Excel version, or business context. Always verify formulas and calculated results in the target Excel environment.
Acceptance and application
By accessing or using Formula Atlas, you confirm that you have read, understood, and agreed to these terms and the Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, stop using the product.
If you use the product on behalf of a company, school, or other organization, you confirm that you have authority to accept these terms for that organization or have obtained the necessary authorization.
Service and operation
Formula Atlas helps translate Excel function names, error values, argument separators, array separators, and regional number formats. It also provides a function dictionary, compatibility notices, round-trip validation, XLSX formula import, copying, and CSV export.
Core translation runs locally in your browser. The product does not open or calculate workbooks in Excel and does not validate final calculated values, data dependencies, defined names, external links, macros, or business meaning within a specific file.
Limited license
Subject to these terms, you may use Formula Atlas for formula translation and compatibility checks in personal, educational, internal business, or lawful commercial contexts.
These terms do not transfer ownership of the product name, interface design, brand assets, source code, function datasets, or other materials. Third-party components distributed with the product are governed by their respective licenses; see the Open-Source Notices.
Your formulas, workbooks, and exports
- You retain applicable rights in formulas, workbook content, and translation results that you are authorized to process.
- You must have lawful permission to access, use, and process each selected file and its data.
- Selecting a workbook authorizes only your browser to read it on the current device to provide the feature; it grants Formula Atlas no ownership of the file.
- You are responsible for protecting translated results and CSV files copied to the clipboard or downloaded to your device.
- Do not process sensitive material on untrusted devices, in browser environments controlled by others, or through deployments of unknown origin.
Accuracy and your duty to review
Formula Atlas aims to preserve formula structure, strings, references, and calculation logic. Results may still be affected by language-data coverage, Excel-version differences, regional settings, dynamic arrays, named formulas, structured references, external workbooks, add-in functions, or unmapped functions.
- Compatibility notices are informational and do not replace validation in Microsoft Excel.
- Round-trip validation can reveal structural differences but does not prove equivalent calculated results.
- Unrecognized or unlocalized functions may remain unchanged and be flagged.
- You must test formulas in the target language, regional format, and Excel version.
- Financial, tax, medical, legal, compliance, safety, or critical business use requires independent review by a suitably qualified person.
Acceptable use
You may not use Formula Atlas for unlawful, infringing, or destructive activity, including:
- processing workbooks or data you are not authorized to access, copy, or translate;
- using the product to distribute malicious code, bypass security controls, or attack other systems;
- intentionally disrupting the site, caches, service worker, or another user’s access;
- removing or misleadingly modifying copyright, license, or attribution notices; or
- making unauthorized warranties, representations, or commitments on behalf of Formula Atlas or its operator.
Third-party technology, Excel, and trademarks
Microsoft, Excel, Microsoft 365, and related names and marks are trademarks of their respective owners. Formula Atlas is an independent tool. Unless the deployed page expressly states otherwise, it is not an official Microsoft product and does not imply Microsoft endorsement, sponsorship, or partnership.
Browsers, operating systems, file pickers, download managers, and hosting infrastructure are provided by third parties. Their availability and data processing are governed by their own terms and policies.
Availability, offline use, and service changes
The product may be temporarily unavailable because of maintenance, browser compatibility, network conditions, cache failure, device limits, deployment changes, or events beyond reasonable control. Offline use depends on a browser that supports service workers and cache storage and normally requires at least one successful online load.
Features, language coverage, function data, and supported Excel versions may be added, changed, or removed in updates. We aim to avoid unnecessary compatibility disruption but do not promise that any feature will remain unchanged indefinitely.

To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, Formula Atlas is provided “as is” and “as available,” without express or implied warranties of continuous availability, error-free operation, complete accuracy, merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, or compatibility with every Excel environment.
Language mappings, version information, diagnostics, examples, and notices are provided as assistance only and do not constitute financial, accounting, tax, medical, legal, or other professional advice.
Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, Formula Atlas’s operator, contributors, and licensors are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, punitive, or consequential loss arising from use of or inability to use the product, including lost data, damaged workbooks, business interruption, lost profits, or decisions based on an incorrect formula.
Keep backups of original workbooks and validate translations in the target environment. Some jurisdictions do not allow certain warranty exclusions or liability limitations. In those jurisdictions, this section applies only to the extent permitted by law and does not affect mandatory consumer rights.
Changes, severability, and governing law
These terms may be updated to reflect changes in features, operations, or legal requirements. The updated effective date and version will appear on this page. If any provision is held invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions remain effective.
These terms are interpreted under the laws applicable where the actual operator is established, while preserving non-waivable consumer protections and other mandatory rights in your location. Disputes should first be addressed through good-faith communication, subject to any mandatory legal requirements.
