ƒ Formula Atlas

ABOUT FORMULA ATLAS

A practical tool for formula language differences.

Formula Atlas helps people adapt formula text from tutorials, documentation and colleagues to another Excel language or regional convention. The translator, dictionary and XLSX reader run in the browser without a formula upload service.

Operator

Formula Atlas is operated by cheng wanghua. It is an independent project, not a Microsoft product or an endorsement by Microsoft.

Where the data comes from

The base function-name mappings are derived from the MIT-licensed PHPOffice/PhpSpreadsheet locale data and combined with project-maintained additions. Read the license notice or visit the upstream locale directory.

The dictionary currently contains 500 identifiers across 18 language choices. These are dataset counts, not a claim to cover all Excel functions or every localized name. Mapping counts vary; Japanese currently has 60 registered mappings. Missing names fall back to English with a warning.

Compatibility metadata is partial. Selected version boundaries were reviewed against Microsoft's function directory on 23 October 2026. Other entries explicitly say “Version not verified.” Platform-specific differences and Microsoft 365 update channels still need checking.

How reliability is checked

The project includes automated parser, conversion, dictionary and workbook-reference tests, plus 3,000 deterministic differential cases comparing two conversion paths. These tests check implementation consistency. They do not independently establish that every mapping matches every Excel installation.

No complete matrix of hands-on Excel tests across all languages and releases has been completed. For consequential work, test converted formulas in your target Excel using known inputs. The validation guide explains the scope of each check.

Contact and corrections

Email wanghuac389@gmail.com to contact cheng wanghua. For a conversion problem, include the source and target languages, Excel version and platform, regional separators, expected result and actual result.

Use a short, anonymized formula with synthetic data. Do not send confidential workbooks, credentials or customer data. Email leaves your device and is handled by the email provider; the translator itself does not send formula content.

Privacy and advertising

This version has no advertising network or behavioral analytics integration. Local preferences and dictionary favorites are stored in your browser; formula input is not saved by the application. Hosting may still generate technical access logs. See the Privacy Policy.

If advertising or analytics are introduced, this description and the privacy disclosures must be updated to match the deployed services.
